# Arguments for different rates photo / video
- Videographers are paid more per production day (not travel, not postproduction, not preproduction) because they need more (& more expensive) equipment and require a more extensive skill set.
- Market prices are higher for video than for photography (both what clients are willing to pay and what freelance creators ask for).
- It has been Fairpicture's experience in the last years that our photography rate is well received by creators but that we lost videographers because of low rates. These two rates account for this.
