# How the FairConsent Platform Works
The **FairConsent Platform** is designed to help organizations manage consent workflows in a secure, centralized, and scalable way. It enables teams to create projects, assign collectors, manage consent records, and oversee consent operations across multiple productions and field activities.
### The platform is ideal for:
- Nonprofits and NGOs
- Production houses
- Media organizations
- Agencies and partner networks
- Compliance and legal teams
- Organizations managing distributed field collectors
The platform with the FairConsent app together, they create a complete ecosystem for collecting, uploading, reviewing, and managing informed consent ethically and efficiently.
### **How the Platform Works**
The FairConsent Platform is built around a centralized workflow:
1. Owners, Admins or Managers create projects on the platform
2. Collectors are assigned to projects
3. Collectors access projects through the app
4. Consents are recorded in the field
5. Collectors upload the consents sync back to the platform
6. Organizations review, manage, and export consent records centrally
This structure gives organizations better operational control, oversight, and compliance management.
### **Sign up as a client**
To start using the FairConsent Platform:
1. Create an account through the platform signup page
2. Choose a suitable subscription for your organization
3. Configure your organization settings
4. Invite users and assign roles
5. Create projects and assign collectors
### **User & License Management**
Navigate to **Users & Licenses** to manage your organization’s users and app access.
The platform supports different user roles, including:
- Owners
- Admins
- Managers
- Collectors
Using the app requires an assigned seat/license.

### **Centralized Consent Project (CCP)**
The platform now supports **Centralized Consent Projects**, allowing Admins, Owners, and Managers to create and manage projects directly from the platform.
### With CCP organizations can:
- Create projects in the platform
- Assign projects to one or multiple collectors
- Standardize project naming and setup
- Track project activity more efficiently
- Improve oversight across field operations
Once a project is assigned, collectors receive an email invitation and can access the project directly through the FairConsent app. This creates a more controlled and organized workflow compared to collector-created projects.
### **Centralized Consent Management**
The platform acts as a secure central repository for all uploaded consent records.
Organizations can:
- View uploaded consents
- Search and organize records
- Download consent
- Review project activity
- Integrate FairConsent platform with your organization DAM to sync the uploaded consent
N.B.: Consents only appear on the platform after collectors upload them from the app.
### **Consent Terms & App Settings**
Organizations can customize consent workflows by:
- Create/Upload your custom consent terms
- Configuring metadata mapping
- Managing custom fields
- Customize confirmation methods
- Enable permissions based on your organisation settings
This allows workflows to align with organizational, legal, and operational requirements.
### **DAM Integrations**
The FairConsent Platform integrates with various **Digital Asset Management (DAM)** systems.
Organizations can:
- Sync consent metadata automatically (except Google drive)
- Map main and custom metadata fields
- Connect consent records to asset workflow
- Streamline media management processes
Supported integrations may include systems such as:
- Canto
- Frontify
- OrangeLogic
- ResourceSpace
- Google Drive
- AWS S3
- Box
