How to Connect FairConsent with ResourceSpace

Overview

This article explains how to integrate your FairConsent account with ResourceSpace DAM to sync collected consents to your organization’s ResourceSpace instance automatically.

Before you begin

Make sure:

  • You have an active FairConsent subscription.
  • You have admin access to your ResourceSpace instance.
  • You already created an API user in ResourceSpace for the integration.
  • Every FairConsent user who will sync consents also exists in ResourceSpace with the same email address.

Step 1: Go to Integrations

  1. Log in to your FairConsent Platform.
  2. From the left menu, navigate to Consent Management → Integrations.
  3. In the integrations list, find ResourceSpace and click Configure.

Step 2: Enter your ResourceSpace credentials

In the ResourceSpace configuration window, fill in the required fields:

  • Instance Path
  • Username
  • API Key
  • Collection ID (Optional)

Click Continue.

To complete the integration, you will need to locate the required credentials in ResourceSpace.


Open your ResourceSpace account

  • Log in to your ResourceSpace instance.

Copy the Instance Path

  • From the browser URL, copy the part of the link that contains your company instance name and paste it into the Instance Path field.

Open the Users menu

  • Click the top-right menu, then select Users.



Copy the Username

  • Open the relevant user profile, copy the username, and paste it into the Username field.

Reveal the API Key

  • In the same user profile, click Show Hidden Properties to display the Private API Key.

Copy the API Key

  • Copy the Private API Key and paste it into the API Key field.

Locate the Collection ID (Optional)

To find it:

  • Open the desired collection in ResourceSpace
  • Check the browser URL
  • Copy the collection ID number shown in the link



Step 3: Choose your sync mode

You can choose how FairConsent syncs consents to ResourceSpace:


Upload consent as a new Resource

  • Choose the correct "Resource type reference" and the desired "Uploaded consents workflow state" (Active, Pending submission, Pending review)
  • The consent will sync in a collection or recent space 
  • Have a customizable metadata field

Send consent to the Consent Manager 

  • The consent will sync in the consent manager 
  • Have a fixed metadata field

Step 4: Add API keys for FairConsent users

You will see a list of all FairConsent users (Admins, Managers, Collectors)

For each user:

  • Enter their ResourceSpace API key from their profile
  • Ensure the email matches between FairConsent and ResourceSpace

Click Save & Connect.

Step 5: Required permissions in ResourceSpace

Your ResourceSpace admin must grant the user/group the permission:

  • CM Manage consent data

This is mandatory for the integration to work correctly.

Troubleshooting

Email mismatch

  • Make sure the user’s email in FairConsent is the same as in ResourceSpace.

Permission issue

  • Ensure the user/group has cm Manage consent data.

Consents not syncing

  • Check API keys
  • Verify instance path
  • Confirm the correct sync method
  • Ensure emails match
